Welcome to Union Gospel Mission's blog! Here you will get to know us and we hope to get to know you.Here's a picture of our LifeChange Center on the corner of Third and Burnside in downtown Portland. We moved in this year, and we're pretty excited about what the future holds.
At the Mission, we have meals for the homeless - a sack lunch at 6:30 am and hot dinner and chapel service dinner every weeknight. We also hand out clothing, provide referrals, and provide meals at Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and "Operation Overcoat."
Our new building is called the "LifeChange Center" because at the heart of our ministry is LifeChange, a long-term Christian recovery community for men and women. The men and women in LifeChange live and work at the Mission or work at the Mission's thrift store in Tigard.
It's a busy time here! Tomorrow is our fundraising banquet, and next Friday we are kicking off our Thanksgiving food drive.

Anyone interested in a place to jog from in Downtown Portland, we have good access to the waterfront and eastside esplanade from our new LifeChange Center. Leave a post if you want to jog with someone in the morning or afternoon
