New Video: Providing meals without a kitchen

It's hard to believe, but its already been one month since Union Gospel Mission started the demolition of its main floor, including the kitchen.

However, the meal services, of about 300 meals per day, plus other services have been on-going. The residents of the LifeChange recovery program have made it happen with hard work and doing more with less.

As you can see, financial gifts or donating prepared foods is crucial right now. If you can help, give us a call 503-274-4483 or donate online

Turkey time!

This is the time of year when Union Gospel Mission becomes a hive of activity! We are busily preparing for a Thanksgiving feast- a real feast- enough to serve 1,500 traditional Thanksgiving meals. Just to give you an idea- we will serve 100 turkeys, 450 pounds (yes, pounds) of mashed potatoes, 60 gallons of gravy...you get the idea.

This special meal is for people who are homeless or in need. We want to be great!

Right now, we need turkeys...that's LifeChange resident Marc, posing with our blow up turkey mascot in the Mission dining room. The sign says, "We need turkeys!" We do...drop them off at 15 NW Third Ave., in Portland. You can give us a "virtual turkey" by donating to support the meal at http://www.ugmportland.org/

Thank you...and we hope you are blessed as we move into the holidays.
